How We Met:&nbsp;Del and Heather’s story began one unforgettable night out with friends. Introduced through mutual connections, their first conversation started off a little slow—Heather may even admit she was slightly standoffish—but fate had other plans. As the night went on, walls came down and conversation began to flow. Before long, the two found themselves laughing, connecting, and realizing there was something special sparking between them. Though the evening could have ended there, a gentle nudge from friends encouraged Del to join Heather again the next day for brunch—and it was at that table, over mimosas and conversation, that everything truly fell into place. Numbers were exchanged, hearts were curious, and the start of something beautiful was set in motion.From that point forward, Del and Heather became nearly inseparable. Their bond grew quickly, fueled by genuine connection, laughter, and the kind of ease that only comes when you’ve found someone who feels like home. Through the years, they’ve weathered obstacles and celebrated triumphs, always returning to one simple truth: they choose each other, over and over again. What started as a chance meeting has blossomed into a love story built on resilience, joy, and the unwavering belief that the best decision they ever made was to keep choosing us. How He Proposed:&nbsp;The night before Heather’s big nursing school exam, Del was by her side doing what he does best, being her calm in the storm. While Heather was stressing over every detail in her notes, Del was secretly planning something far greater than any test question could hold. After hours of late-night studying, they finally went to bed, but at 3 a.m., Del decided it was the perfect moment to show Heather that she’d never have to face life’s challenges alone.With her hand tucked under the pillow, he carefully slipped a ring onto her finger while whispering words of love and encouragement in her ear. Half-asleep and totally confused, Heather blinked and said, “What?” Del turned on the light, asked again, and suddenly everything clicked. Heather shot up in bed, laughing, screaming, and crying all at once. Del, smiling, reminded her that she actually had to answer him. Through happy tears, Heather said “YES!”— her heart racing with a different kind of adrenaline than any exam could bring and a moment she’ll never forget.Del headed off to work that morning, probably with the biggest grin of his life, leaving behind a fiancée who was far too excited to ever fall back asleep. Heather spent the rest of the morning staring at her ring, reliving the proposal, and soaking up every ounce of joy. (And while we won’t say how that exam turned out, let’s just say she passed the most important test of all—saying yes to forever with Del.)
